NADCAP* – Materials Testing Laboratory accreditation

NADCAP* · NADCAP standard

NADCAP is an aerospace industry-managed accreditation program administered by the Performance Review Institute (PRI), recognized and required by leading aerospace, defense, and space companies. To discuss NADCAP-ready testing, talk with our team.

What NADCAP* Covers

For Materials Testing Laboratories, NADCAP accreditation sets audit criteria for mechanical testing, specimen preparation, and quality systems, providing a standardized, industry-recognized approach to laboratory approval.

How the Test Is Run

NADCAP is not a test procedure. Laboratories are audited against Nadcap audit criteria and applicable test standards, and accreditation is granted to labs that meet the technical and quality requirements.

Why It Matters

NADCAP-ready specimen preparation and testing reduce the risk of nonconformances in aerospace supply chains and support acceptance by primes that mandate the program.

Reading the Designation

Referred to as Nadcap (administered by PRI). It designates an accreditation status of a laboratory or process, not an individual test method.

* Note: NADCAP is a type of accreditation and certification program (administered by the Performance Review Institute), not a materials test standard. It is listed here for reference because it is frequently required alongside the test standards this equipment supports.
