What ISO 8521 Measures

The test stresses the GRP pipe wall in the hoop direction to determine its initial circumferential tensile strength, the property that governs internal pressure capacity.

How the Test Is Run

A ring or wall specimen is loaded so the wall is strained circumferentially until failure, and strength is calculated from the load and wall geometry. Both split-disk and strip methods are used.
