ISO 13802 — Verification of Pendulum Impact-Testing Machines (Charpy, Izod, Tensile Impact)

← Back to all standards

ISO 13802 specifies how to verify pendulum impact testing machines used for plastics, covering Charpy, Izod, and tensile-impact configurations. It is used when commissioning a machine, after maintenance, or on a periodic schedule. To verify a plastics impact machine or select one, talk with our team.

What ISO 13802 Verifies

The standard checks the machine parameters that govern absorbed-energy accuracy for plastics testing: pendulum energy and geometry, friction and windage losses, striker and support dimensions, and the indicating system, across the Charpy, Izod, and tensile-impact modes.

Where It Applies

ISO 13802 supports the plastics impact test methods rather than replacing them. A verified machine is the basis for comparable Charpy, Izod, and tensile-impact results on polymers and composites, whether for material qualification or production control.
