ISO 12048 Packaging Compression and Stacking Tests (Compression Tester)

← Back to all standards

ISO 12048 defines compression and stacking tests for complete, filled transport packages using a compression tester. To match this to your program, talk with our team.

What ISO 12048 Covers

It determines how a filled package withstands stacking loads, applying a compressive force to the whole package to predict warehouse and transport stacking performance.

How the Test Is Run

A filled package is placed between the platens of a compression tester and loaded, either to a set force or to failure, with the deformation and failure mode recorded to judge stacking strength.

Why It Matters

Package stacking strength protects goods through distribution; a large-platen compression frame with controlled loading is required.
