What GB/T 230.2 Verifies

The standard checks the elements that control a Rockwell result: the test forces, the indenter, the depth-measuring system, and the overall machine performance confirmed against certified reference blocks.

Direct and Indirect Checks

Verification combines two complementary methods:

  • Direct: checks of applied forces, indenter geometry, and the depth-measuring system.
  • Indirect: testing certified hardness reference blocks and comparing the readings against their certified values.

Why It Matters

Rockwell hardness is a fast, widely used acceptance check, so an out-of-tolerance machine can accept or reject material incorrectly. A current GB/T 230.2 verification keeps those results defensible for domestic acceptance and audit.
