DIN EN ISO 376 is the German adoption of ISO 376, the standard for calibrating and classifying the force-proving instruments used to verify testing machines. The technical requirements match the ISO version; the DIN EN designation is what German and EU accreditation cites. To calibrate or source a force-proving instrument, talk with our team.
What It Calibrates
A force-proving instrument, such as a load cell or proving ring, is loaded against traceable forces and graded on repeatability, reproducibility, interpolation, and reversibility. From these results it receives a class and a calibrated range for use in machine verification.
Why the DIN EN Designation Is Used
European accreditation scopes reference DIN EN ISO 376 rather than the bare ISO number. An instrument calibrated to this designation is what allows a machine to be verified to DIN EN ISO 7500-1 with a defensible chain of traceability.
Reading the Designation
Cited as DIN EN ISO 376:YYYY. Confirm the edition, since it tracks the underlying ISO standard.
Related Standards
ISO 376 is the base international standard, and DIN EN ISO 7500-1 is the machine-verification standard that uses these instruments.
